Teaser Trailer for Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead Remake Reveals April Release

As we reported over a month ago, straight from the mouth of Danielle Harris, a remake of Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead is heading to theaters. Now, with the release of a teaser trailer courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes, we know that’s happening sooner than originally thought.

Directed by Wade Allain-Marcus, the remake will arrive April 12, 2024, starring Simone Joy Jones, Nicole Richie, June Squibb, Donielle Tremaine Hensley, Jermaine Fowler, and will likely include a cameo from Harris as well.

In the new re-imagining, seventeen-year-old Tanya Crandell (Jones) can’t wait to spend the summer living it up with her friends in Spain before heading to Howard University in the fall. But when her mom (Ms. Pat) decides to head to a much-needed wellness retreat in Thailand, Tanya is forced to stay home with her three siblings instead. Following the unexpected death of their elderly babysitter (Squibb), Tanya gets a job working for the confident and ambitious Rose (Richie). Juggling work, family, and a complicated romance, Tanya faces the responsibility of adulthood at the cost of her summer of freedom.
