Danielle Harris Breaks Silence on Babysitter Remake

We’ve been sitting on this news for a while, but now that it has been confirmed by comicbook.com we can officially release our exclusive video of Danielle Harris discussing the upcoming Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead remake, which should be released later this year. Danielle dropped this bombshell during a panel at Days of the Dead Chicago on November 25, 2023, but asked us to not release it until more official news had been announced.

Deadline first reported news of the “diverse” remake in 2020 describing it as “a present-day retelling centered on a black family.” At the time, Bille Woodruff was planning to direct based on a script by Chuck Hayward. Most recently, the film has earned an “R” rating from the MPA and will be distributed by Iconic Releasing. During an interview with comicbook.com, Harris revealed that a “big surprise” was coming soon and that it would be “something fabulous that has been worked on” for fans of the 1991 film.

Are you ready for a diverse remake of the cult-classic? We’ll keep watching for more news on this story as it progresses.
