Interview with the Vampire Season 2 Returns to AMC this May

Anne Rice fans can get excited (or incensed) that AMC’s Interview with the Vampire will return to the network with a second season premiere scheduled for Sunday, May 12, 2024.

Continuing in the year 2022, vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) recounts his life story to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). Season one covered the bloody events in 1940 New Orleans when Louis and teen Claudia (Delainey Hayles) conspired to kill the Vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid). Louis tells of his adventures in Europe, a quest to discover old world Vampires and the Theatre Des Vampires in Paris. It is in Paris that Louis first meets the vampire Armand (Assad Zaman). Their courtship and love affair will prove to have devastating consequences both in the past and in the future, and Molloy will probe to get to the truths buried within the memories. Delainey Hayles joins the cast as Claudia, after Bailey Bass exited last season.

Based on Rice’s 1976 novel of the same name, the series is the first in AMC’s Anne Rice Immortal Universe, which has already grown to include The Mayfair Witches starring Alexandra Daddario, which recently began production on season two. The Universe is adding a third series based on Rice’s Order of the Talamasca, which tells the story of a group of psychic detective who investigate and monitor supernatural beings. John Lee Hancock is on board to write and executive produce the new series. There have also been discussions, even as early as January of 2023, to develop crossover episodes among the series, which could open the world up even more.

Stay tuned for more from Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe as we learn it.
