Jason Universe First Activation – The WB MultiVersus

For those of you hardcore fans waiting for the first announcement from the Jason Universe, the good news is you already have one; the bad news is it’s pretty disappointing.

WB Games and Player First Games dropped the trailer for MultiVersus, a free-to-play platform fighter with an ever-expanding cast of iconic characters and legendary universes, various online modes, in-game events, on-going content-filled seasons, and more. Along with the likes of Bugs Bunny and his Looney Tunes characters, players will include Stripe from Gremlins, heroes and villains from the DC Universe like Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Joker, as well as the Scooby-Doo gang, Mr. Smith from The Matrix, and (sigh) a very cartoonish Jason Voorhees.

Talk about a “new era” for a beloved horror icon! Yes, Jason makes a magical appearance near the end of the trailer, in which the most diabolical gameplay seems to be throwing pies in your opponent’s face.

When Horror Inc. said they were “excited” to bring the most recognizable names and faces in horror to a new generation, this is not the way most fans wanted or expected. Granted, this is only the first announcement from this new Jason Universe, but first impressions are important. Their next announcement better be a doozy!
