Luc Besson to Helm “Big-Budgeted” Dracula Film
Luc Besson, the acclaimed (and somewhat controversial) French director behind such hits as The Professional, The Fifth Element, and La Femme Nikita, has been tapped to helm a new as yet untitled Dracula tale featuring Caleb Landry Jones (Antiviral) in the title role, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story details this version will be a “big-budgeted film” and serve as a “retelling of Bram Stoker’s classic Gothic tale” that will “focus on the beginning of Dracula’s life and his relationship with his wife.” Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) is also in talks to join the cast, but no details about his role have been revealed.
