Christian Bale to Play Frankenstein

“I’ve got to shave my head next week,” esteemed actor Christain Bale said last week when asked about his next film, which will be a Frankenstein based tale with an all-star cast helmed by sophomore director Maggie Gyllenhaal.

The story follows a lonely Frankenstein who travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the aide of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born. She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police and a wild and radical social movement. The cast also includes Jessie Buckley, Penelope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard, and Annette Bening, who was announced today by Deadline.

Production is expected to begin soon with a release from Warner Bros. coming potentially next year.
