Christian Slater Joins Cast of Dexter: Original Sin

Dexter Morgan was once a young man. A new prequel series from Showtime is in the works and Christian Slater has joined as Dexter’s father, Harry.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news today adding that Patrick Gibson (Shadow and Bone) will play a younger version of Michael C. Hall’s title character Dexter Morgan. Molly Brown (Senior Year) will also star in the series.

Dexter: Original Sin is set in 1991 Miami and revolves around Dexter as he goes from student to avenging serial killer. With guidance from his father, Harry, Dexter adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people without being discovered by law enforcement at the same time as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department. Clyde Phillips, who served as showrunner for the original series, will return to the same role for the prequel.
