James Wan Developing Darker Reboot of The Munsters

Another reimagining of The Munsters is in the works, this time with James Wan at the helm! The new Universal horror series 1313 “lives and breathes within the Universal Monsterverse.”

Deadline broke the news today and includes Lindsey Anderson Beer (Pet Sematary: Bloodlines) as the showrunner of the series that Wan will develop and produce. The report also states this will be a “darker reimagining” of the original series.

Most recently, The Munsters got the reboot treatment in Rob Zombie’s 2022 film, but many iterations have existed or been in development since the original series debuted in 1964.
