Goldilocks Gets Violent in New Twist on Fairy Tale
In “this trend is getting really old” news, yet another public domain horror film coming to life is Goldilocks and the Three Bears: Death and Porridge and Variety has shared an image from the movie, which seems to take elements from The Strangers and The Purge.
In the photo, Goldilocks, wearing a mask, holds a gun to a woman’s head while a bear stands idly by. Directed by Craig Rees, who also stars, in this adaptation of the fairy tale, Goldilocks and the three bears live together in an isolated house in the woods. When a group of friends enter their home, Goldilocks, leader of the bears’ pack, decides to get rid of the intruders. The movie also features Olga Solo, Abigail Huxley, and Julian Amos.
How do you feel about this current horror trend? Does it inspire an interesting take on some of the stories we grew up with or is it just lazy filmmaking?
